All of us mothers who have kids who study in the same preschool have formed a mother’s group. We meet occasionally to discuss our children’s progress in school and also to simply catch up with each other. Sometimes we meet with the kids in tow, whereas at other times we leave the kids at home to spend some quality time with their fathers and catch up on our own. When the children are with us we invariably get involved in stories for children so that we can keep the kids happily occupied. Although there are many other ways in which we can ensure that the kids are enjoying and having fun, all of us mothers have realized that nothing works as well as stories for children. And on those few occasions when we are not accompanied by our kids, we talk about practically everything under the sun. Swapping ideas for a toddler’s lunch and even swapping toddler cough remedies are things that we find ourselves busy in.
Today’s parents are quite hesitant about feeding bottles and bottles of medicines to their kids. Even when my children fall ill, I try and employ various home remedies to treat their illness is a natural way. If none of these home remedies seem to work and if my child’s health is deteriorating really rapidly, then only as a last resort I take them to the doctor’s clinic and pump them up with drugs and medicines. As it is I have found that for small health issues such as a toddler cough, a slight fever, a sore throat, or even a runny nose home remedies work far more efficiently and quickly than allopathic medicines.
The easiest type of home remedies to prepare is toddler cough remedies. However, you should be careful when you choose to treat your child in this manner and without medicines. I mean, if it is simply a cough with no toddler vomiting no fever, then it is alright to try and treat it at home only. However, if your child is running a fever along with the cough and has also vomited a few times, then this could be an indication of a serious illness and in such a situation it is always advisable that you consult your pediatrician as fast as possible.
Some great toddler cough remedies that I have come across are inspired from stories for children. Yes, many stories talk about how a mama bear cured her baby bear’s illness with honey and such other things. Thus, trying to treat my little baby with simple ingredients that we have in our homes was also something that I wanted to do. Many ingredients in our pantries and kitchen shelves have amazing therapeutic properties and thus lend themselves beautifully to toddler cough remedies.
